Rosalia Joseph Selected As: Business Elites Africa “Africa’s 40 Under 40"

The entire PAMCA team would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Rosalia Joseph, Women in Vector Control Regional Coordinator (Central and Southern Africa) for being selected as Business Elites Africa “Africa’s 40 Under 40". Rosalia continues to break barriers and achieve extraordinary milestones. Her journey has been marked by a series of remarkable achievements that demonstrate her unwavering dedication and commitment to drive positive change. Her selection as Business Elites Africa, "Africa's 40 Under 40" places her among a selected group of individuals under the age of 40 who are setting new standards in their respective fields and making substantial contributions to the social and economic fabric of African society.

In 2020, Rosalia was recognized as the first female medical entomologist in Namibia. Her groundbreaking work played a pivotal role in the battle against malaria, leading to well-deserved recognition from the PAMCA as an early career runner-up for the Women in Vector Control Excellence award in 2021. Earlier this year, Rosalia's achievements reached even greater heights when she was listed as one of Forbes Africa's "30 under 30." This prestigious acknowledgment recognized her as a young leader making a significant impact on the continent. In addition, Rosalia's participation in the Mandela Washington Fellowship highlights her commitment to leadership and development in Africa.

Her passion for unravelling the complexities of insect behaviour and disease transmission drives her to provide innovative solutions to combat vector-borne diseases. Simultaneously, she is resolutely committed to dismantling gender disparities and promoting diversity in her field. Rosalia's legacy merges scientific exploration with social progress, empowering individuals of all genders to challenge stereotypes and biases and catalyzing positive change in entomology, public health, and gender equality. Rosalia envisioned herself as a modern-day Marie Curie, leaving an indelible mark on entomology and public health.

We at PMCA are immensely proud of her accomplishments and excited to see the continued impact she will make!
