PAMCA INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY AND MACHINE LEARNING WORKSHOP FOR MALARIA SURVEILLANCE
THEME: IMPROVING MALARIA SURVEILLANCE ACROSS AFRICA
About the course: This is a training course delivered jointly by the Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA), Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), and the University of Glasgow (UoG). It's designed to provide practical training for control experts on the use and application of infrared spectroscopy and machine learning for malaria vector surveillance in African countries.
The course will be in two parts:
Online training
An intense 2-month course which will cover various topics in IRs and ML using MIRS & NIRS.
In-person training
The one-week training will specifically emphasize the practical aspects and real-world applications derived from the content covered in the online course.
Who can apply?
The course is open to everyone combating vector borne diseases i.e entomologists, researchers, NMCP, and graduate students. Candidates will be selected based on the criteria stipulation on the application form.
