The Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) is an African professional body that brings together players in the field of mosquito and mosquito-borne disease control. PAMCA exists to provide a platform for capacity building, knowledge sharing and collaboration for concerted vector control initiatives in the African continent. PAMCA’s overarching goal is to bring together African scientists and other partner institutions, to work together and adopt common approaches to tackling the burden of mosquito-borne diseases across the continent.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - WIVC Excellence Award

During this year’s Virtual PAMCA Annual Conference & Exhibition, PAMCA through its WIVC program and with the support of its partners plan to continue supporting the active participation of women in vector control by organizing award ceremonies that recognize the efforts, achievements and excellence among women who have contributed exceptionally to research and leadership in the control of VBDs in SSA. Through this award program, PAMCA will honor six women under three categories: young and upcoming, mid, and senior and established WIVC with a token grant of up to $2000 each. The awardees will have the liberty to re-invest in initiatives that promotes women participation in VBDs in SSA.

Membership

PAMCA is a membership organization and members constitute part of the governance structure and therefore a very important aspect of the organization. We ensure effective participation of members in our activities.

Members benefit include:

  • Attendance at national meetings
  • Reduced rates for meeting registration
  • Paper presentations at certain PAMCA-organized events
  • Publication in PAMCA journal (once established)
  • Legislative and regulatory advocacy
