PROGRAMME INTERN

Reports to:

Programme Manager, Capacity Building and Gender Main Streaming and Scientific Operations Director.

Reponsible for:

Providing scientific administration support.

Location:

Will be based in Kenya. This role requires occasional travel to field to oversee data collection in Western Kenya.

Terms:

Appointment in the program will be for a period of Three (3) months renewable.

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of Head malaria/sequencing Laboratory, the assistants will be expected to:

  • Participate in research protocol development.
  • Assist in running assays for research project.
  • Assist in the maintenance project records.
  • Assist in report writing.
  • Supervise data collection and cleaning.
  • Coordinate field planning and activities.
  • Organize project planning meetings.
  • Assist in other tasks to support the day to day running of the project.

Skills Knowledge Experience:

Essential 

  • Must have graduated with a BSc. Biochemistry / Biomedical/ Medical Biology /microbiology/ Biotechnology or any related course from a recognized institution.
  • MSc is an added advantage
  • Experience in insecticide resistance monitoring, more especially bioassays
  • Past experience with mosquito raring
  • Past experience field work and community engagement.
  • Past experience with report writing
  • Good communication skills.
  • 1.5 years cumulative experience.
  • Provide a Certificate of good conduct.
  • Must be fluent in English.
