6th Annual PAMCA Conference & Exhibition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yaoundé/Cameroon, 8 September 2019

The Pan-African Mosquito Control Assocations (PAMCA) will be holding its sixth annual conference & exhibition between 23-25 September 2019, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaounde-Cameroon, on vector-borne diseases prominent in Africa, including Malaria and others on the theme : ‘Strengthening Surveillance Systems for Vector-borne disease elimination in Africa’.

This important event will gather approximately 350 scientists, researchers, governmental and non-governmental actors, civil society and private sector instititions from Africa and across the globe.

The main goal of this conference is to provide a platform for African and African facing institutions to showcase the latest research on vector control, discuss innovation and establish networks for collaboration between researchers and strengthen advocacy for the promotion of Africa innovation and the mobilization of resources for African-led initiatives for the the fight against these diseases. Chair of the local organising committee, Dr Antonio Nkondjio said ‘As a founding member of PAMCA I am delighted to see the annual PAMCA conference grow in importance over the last six years. ‘This year will be our most high profile conference to date, showcasing the latest research and thinking from the talent we have in Africa with the ultimate aim of scaling up African solutions to address the scourge of vector-borne diseases and improve the lives of Africans’
